Essential capabilities for managing an aged care workforce – an evidence review
Workshop hosted by Ageing, Workforce and Education Special Interest Group (AWESIG)
about this workshop
Internationally, the management of the aged care workforce has been somewhat neglected by both the research literature and recent enquiries into the sector. While there is fundamental agreement that the quality of management is linked with staff outcomes such as recruitment, retention and job satisfaction, there is growing evidence that well-managed staff also provide better care.
This workshop will present findings from an evidence review on management practices, a set of recommendations and interactive discussion of innovative approaches to ensuring quality of workforce management practices.
